John Whaite is a British Cook, Cookery Author and TV presenter. John won the third series of The Great British Bake Off, and now runs his own cookery school, John Whaite’s Kitchen, set in the heart of rural Lancashire.
John co-presented 2 x series of ITV’s food programme, Chopping Block with Rosemary Shrager. His fourth book, Comfort was published in September 2017 and was chosen as a Book of the Year by BBC Radio 4’s Food Programme. John has also been a resident chef on ITV’s Lorraine for two years.

John gained a first class Law degree from the University of Manchester after declining a place to study at Oxford University. John decided to hang up the gown and don the apron, a decision spurred on after he won The Great British Bake Off. Following his win, he wrote John Whaite Bakes: Recipes for Every Day and Every Mood and John Whaite Bakes At Home. The success of his first non-baking cookery book, Perfect Plates in 5 Ingredients, quickly lead to his fourth book Comfort, being published a year later.
