Alistair and his brother, Jonny dominate the World of Triathlon. Alistair is the only triathlete to ever win two Olympic titles in the sport, winning gold in both the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games.

Alistair was studying medicine at Cambridge University when he realised his true passion was in sport, he decided he would take on a less demanding course at Leeds University a city where the sport was well supported by British Triathlon.
Alistair has overcome challenges in his career, including a stress fracture of the femur, exhaustion, and a heavy fall during the 2011 ITU Championship season in Sydney. Despite these setbacks Alistair went on to be the ITU, European, World, Commonwealth and Olympic champion.
Alistair is also a two-time Triathlon World Champion, winning in 2009 and 2011, a two-time World Team Champion (2011, 2014), a three-time European Champion, and 2014 Commonwealth champion.
